You can choose a number of input methods by choosing the required option from the soft input pad (SIP). The SIP is the small icon on the bottom right hand side of the screen.


The software keyboard simulates a real keyboard from which you select letters and numbers using your stylus.

Letter Recognizer

Character recognition software gives you a fast and easy method for entering information in any program on your device. Letters, numbers, and punctuation you write are translated into typed text.

Block Recognizer

The block recognizer is similar to the letter recognizer but is more useful to palm users who are used to writing using the grafitti method.


Microsoft Transcriber is the natural handwriting recognition solution for your Pocket PC. It recognises words from its integrated dictionary, and allows you to write in cursive, print or mixed handwriting.

Transcriber works transparently in the background of all Pocket PC applications providing handwriting input, while taking away no precious screen space.
